Eugene snowstorm aftermath still wreaking havoc on Cascade Raptor Center

Register-Guard - 03-18

A freak snowstorm last month that dropped more than a foot of snow in areas of Lane County caused thousands of dollars of damage at Eugene's Cascades Raptor Center. Significant damage to south Eugene the nonprofit education and rehabilitation facility was mostly due to toppled trees and branches, as well as heavy snow that caused the roofs of several bird aviaries and other enclosures to collapse, said executive director Louise Shimmel. The center, at 32275 Fox Hollow Road, received about 28 inches of snow, she said.
