Less than six weeks ahead of the 2019 Academy Awards, one of the show’s producers, Donna Gigliotti, took a break from her chaotic schedule to present producer Bruce Cohen with a service award at a Producers Guild of America event in New York. In front of a packed room at the Cadillac House in SoHo—with Spike Lee, Jason Blum, and Ben Stiller among the 200 or so guests—Gigliotti, who’s producing the Oscars with Glenn Weiss (the director who proposed to his girlfriend during last year’s Emmys), brought up the elephant in the ballroom: “If anyone in this room asks me who is going to host the Oscars, security is going to escort you out.”
